Swampwalk thursday June 25

Swamp walk a little earlier this morning, trying to beat the heat and see more critters. I lucked into this little hard shelled turtle who wandered pretty far from the water’s edge. A few squirrels and smaller birds, but maybe I should head out earlier to spot frogs and the other beasties before it cracks the 80s. I tend to avoid the area where other folks gather based on where waste can be found. If there is a plastic bag or an aluminum can, I usually assume neighborhood kids are using it as a hangout. I generally prefer the quadruped and birds to humans out in the swamp.

Rainy walk kept things cooler at just about 70°F. I. Impressed that I could find the degrees symbol without any effort, otherwise I’d have just omitted it. And hey, ho, the wind and the rain! I didn’t see any other significant critters. No frogs with banjos. No bunnies with umbrellas.
