Went even earlier in the hopes of fewer buzzing, biting insects and still cooler temperatures.
We got about 4 inches of rain last night, and the water line showed a significant alteration along the still-moist path. Lots of lovely haze to look at, though it had the greasy feel and temperature of working near a short order grill.
Saw a few osprey, one vulture and a couple of squirrels. No visuals on frogs/toads/turtles, but there was a pretty robust call from something that sounded like the plucking of an E string on a well-amplified guitar.
Picture was tweaked a little bit for my own amusement, dear journal. See if you can find the element added in post!
Four humans spotted, one working kettle bells in his driveway, one adult jogger (I dont think it was the same lady as yesterday, but distance makes that judgement tricky) and one adult pushing a stroller with a bald infant while walking what looked like a golden retriever / “something else” mixed puppy. I was the only one that had a visible mask, but the jogger was headed away from me. However, we were all quite distant from one another save for the two using the stroller.
End of social distancing day 116 report for now, dear journal.
