Today’s swamp walk l saw more osprey and turkey vultures. Frogs and toads must be on to me, I haven’t seen any in a bit now. A new turtle literally in my yard on the way to heading indoors…. not the same critter as the more yellow box turtle from yesterday though. I hope this little dude decides to hang out here… I am happy to toss our veg scraps in the yard for squirrels and bunnies… a little motorcycle helmet with legs would surely be welcome too. #swampwalk #turtle #damnitishot

• May 28, 2020 Spotted the short-tailed albino squirrel on my walk. Maybe not truly albino? The hair on the tail is growing back in brownish black… Or is just a cute but dirty paintbrush. • May 26, 2020 Swamp walk today, saw a a ton of squirrels, including an albino. I think we have more than one, because this guy has a long tail and the other we saw last week had a shortened one. Also seen, were a male and female cardinal,a bluejay, an osprey, a clutch of turkey vultures, a few robins, and neighborhood cats tuxedo Panda and tabby Sid. Tabby Peach was lost yesterday, but was found at Panda’s house a few hours later, thankfully. Our poor neighbor was understandably worried about her, given local fox activity lately. I am glad that our boy Pyewacket is strictly indoor, and prefers that for the most part. I didn’t see the foxes or eagles today. The swamp is getting much more lush and green, harder to look as deep into the woods than last week. We are approaching peak “green glow” and I am ok with that. Still cool outside, upper 60s. I will miss the cool days when they go. • March 26, 2020 Outdoor walk report – saw about 5 other people, and we all maintained at least the width of a road apart, most of them were stunning on the front porch as I walked down to the swamp.
